Louis CK Rants about Modern Life on Conan
I'm not a huge Louis CK fan, but then again I haven't watched too much of his stuff. I saw one standup special that he was on and I wasn't that impressed. I'm just not that big of a fan of those comedians who get seem to be angry all the time, because I think it takes away from the comedy.
But I came across this clip today of Louis CK on Conan talking about the "spoiled generation" that takes the sophisticated, technologically-advanced world for granted, and I was dying laughing. It's hilarious because it's so true. We do take this amazing world for granted. Enjoy.

Ricky Gervais is not only one of the funniest guys on the planet, he's also very smart. I've been a huge fan of Ricky's since I first saw him in the original UK version of The Office, which as you may know was the show that spawned the American version of The Office.
He then went on to do another show about a struggling actor called Extras, which was funny and featured a lot of celebrity cameos. Gervais then had a small role in Ben Stiller's Night at the Museum and then went on to do a pretty funny but largely overlooked movie called Ghost Town.
In this Daily Show interview with Jon Stewart, Ricky weighs in on science, the nature of celebrity, and Paris Hilton, who he thinks needs to leave England and take her reality show with her. Ricky Gervais is always good for a laugh as is Jon Stewart.

Academy Awards Oscar Coverage Online
Did you miss the Academy Awards ceremony last night? Are you interested in finding out what happened, who won, who made an idiot out of themselves, who wore what, and who cried.
If you are, you can find a lot of Oscar coverage online. Over at ReadWrite web, there's a good article which is a good place to start to find some hidden Oscar gems online from last night's presentation at the Kodak Theater.
I caught the last hour of the Academy Awards last night, just as they were handing out the Best Director award to Danny Boyle, who directed Slumdog Millionaire, a great film that pretty much swept the Awards show. The Academy tried a new, more personal format this year, with a more accessible circular stage that reached into the crowd. All the celebrities seemed to be very close to the front of the room and in every camera shot, you could see several rows of recognizable faces.
The theme seemed to be less is more in some aspects, although they brought out the heavy duty firepower by having five previous winners in each category take the stage and talk about each of the nominees. This was a very smart move because one thing you can count on is that people are interested in famous faces and will keep their eyes on the screen for that kind of thing, and may tune out from an obnoxious overblown dance number.
Slumdog Millionaire was a big winner, taking 8 Oscars, including Best Picture. One of the coolest things about this movie were the great child actors, who a lot of people feel really brought the magic to the movie. Watch the Slumdog kids interviewed on the red carpet.
Here is Sean Penn's acceptance speech for the Best Actor award for Milk. It's by far the most entertaining speech from last night.

Fox has nice website that is simply designed and keeps the show as the main focal point of the site. Now you can watch full episodes of Hell's Kitchen, which is seriously one of the most entertaining shows on the air.
The chef who runs the hottest kitchen on tv is chef Gordon Ramsay, who you could compare to Simon Cowell of American Idol in terms of how he inspires fear into the contestants on his show. Ramsay says some of the funniest things on network tv and has insults you can't even compete with.

I Dollhouse, the latest lite drama from Joss Whedon, "Eliza Dushku stars as a member of an illegal group who have had their personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with new personas."
This looks like it could be a pretty good show--at least judging from the fact that Eliza Dushku is hot and wouldn't be bad watching on the screen. But the show also premiered on a Friday night at 9 pm, which isn't generally where you put the shows you have the most faith in. We'll see how all this pans out, but this isn't Variety, so just enjoy the premiere episode of Dollhouse.

Watch New Lonely Island Music Video / SNL Digital Short - I'm On A Boat
If you've watched SNL anytime in the past couple of years, you probably know that there are two things that have really kept the show afloat and helped it stay relevant. One of them was Tina Fey's on-point Palin impersonation.
The other thing is the SNL Digital Short. These shorts are the funniest and most youth-oriented sketches on the show. Most of them are written by the Lonely Island, which consists of Andy Samberg and his two friends (who are writers on SNL), Jorma, and Akiva.
These guys have killed it this year. They have been releasing music videos over the past few months in a buildup to a release of their first album for their band, Incredibad. These guys are hilarious. You and 15 million other people have watched the song In My Pants on Youtube, so you probably know what this is. If not, check it out here. Definitely not safe to watch at work--or at least turn down your speakers.
The newest digital outing for this crew of high school friends, who reunited in Los Angeles after college and started making short digital films until they were scooped up by SNL, is called I'm On a Boat. It features the omnipresent T-Pain and is a spoof on pretty much every music video ever made on a boat.

Watch Bones Episode Online - Season 4
Bones Season 4 Episode - The Hero in the Hold
Bones seems to be one of those shows that you either love or hate. I don't think there is any slow coming around on this show.
It's pretty clear cut. You either like the dry humor of the brilliantly quirky characters or you don't. You either like the dry humor of Temperance Brennen or you don't.
Watch the latest Bones episode online. This episode is called The Hero in the Hold and is pretty entertaining. One thing I can say about Bones is that it's pretty smart and well-done. If you are into the police type shows like CSI, then Bones could be a show for you.

In these days of economic crisis, prepaid phones are a good way to cut down on the bills. This is a tv blog, so of course I'm concerned about watching tv on your cell phone, something which most prepaid cell phones aren't capable of doing.
Prepaid phones give you more control over the minutes you use and the minutes you pay for. You don't have to sign a contract with prepaid, you don't need to undergo a credit check, and you will never have to pay any termination fees.
